We had done this walk twice before with CBMW as their end of season walk. The first one was in 2006, there was a real downpour, we got drenched and the walk was abandoned. We did it again earlier this year and it was uneventful. This is the first time we did it with the Monday Club. We led the walk, but it was not one of our better ones.

26 Nov 2007 - Fontilles Walk
This was a repeat of a walk I last did with the Monday Club in January. Jan was not feeling very well then, and missed it. So this was the first time we did it together. The walk starts from the carpark at Fontilles, goes up through the woods to Campell, up again on a steep, winding road. Then back to Fontilles, in through the back gate and back to the cars.

12 Nov 2007 - Fig Tree Walk
Its hard to believe that just last week we were walking along the river in Durham, wrapped up in our winter coats under grey skies and grateful that it was not raining. Now its back to warm days, blue skies and ideal walking conditions. Todays Monday Club walk was Fig Tree Walk. There is a long uphill climb for about an hour, but then lovely views, easy level and downhill walking back to the cars. It was nice to see that the group had returned to its more usual numbers.
3 Nov 2007 - Day out in Durham
Stuart took us all to Durham for the day. We both love the city, as it reminds us of Salisbury. Both are cathedral cities and both have a very similar feel. Durham is of course also a university city, and as we walked along the river we watched the students training on the river. This reminded us of Oxford a few days ago. We were very lucky with the weather. It was cold and a little overcast, but dry and excellent for walking.
