Dave and Sue had not done this walk before, and were keen to do so after we had spoken so highly of it. The walk starts from the centre of Benimeli and follows the Stations of the Cross uphill. We then follow a good track to a group of finca ruins where we have a short break. Uphill again, this time heading for a tree on the skyline and looking for the next cairn as we go. At the top there is a car park and picnic site. But we continue uphill to the aerials, and on along the ridge to the end. Here there are wonderful views over Montgo, Denia and the coast. There is also plenty of places for our picnic lunch. Back along the ridge to the picnic site, then follow the road downhill for about half an hour. A track leads around the hill, and then down a mosarabic path to the village square and a cold drink at the bar.
